
The Marion Police Department is investigating a fatal train-pedestrian crash that occurred Friday night in the City of Marion.
According to a news release issued February 13, 2026, Marion Central Dispatch received a call at approximately 8:41 p.m. from CSX reporting that one of its trains had struck two pedestrians at the Kenton Avenue crossing.
Officers responding to the scene located two individuals near the crossing. An adult male was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 12-year-old child was found with serious injuries.
Police said the child was extricated from beneath the train and transported to Marion General Hospital. The child was later flown by medical helicopter to Nationwide Children’s Hospital for further treatment.
Authorities have identified the deceased as Dalton McMillen, 33, of Marion. The crash remains under investigation.
