Students at Benjamin Logan High School put their skills to the test on Tuesday during the annual Power Pace interviews—an event organized by the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center (ESC) to provide authentic, real-world interview experience.
Volunteers from businesses and organizations across Logan County donated their time to conduct mock interviews, evaluating students on communication skills, professionalism, resume quality, and overall preparedness. Students arrived with completed resumes and practiced responses, ready to showcase what they have learned.
After each interview, business partners offered feedback in both individual and group settings, sharing practical tips to help students build confidence and refine their skills. Many volunteers noted they could see students improving throughout the process and emphasized the value the experience provides for both students and employers.
Power Pace interviews are part of the Logan County Collaborative’s “3E” initiative, which encourages students to plan for one of three post-graduation pathways: employment, enlistment, or enrollment.
Through the ongoing work of the Logan County Collaborative, several annual events help students better understand local career opportunities. These include 8th Grade Career Day, the Annual Career Expo for high school students, and an annual “Signing Day” celebration that honors each student’s chosen path after graduation—whether entering the workforce, enlisting in the military, or pursuing higher education.
Power Pace interviews will continue at schools across Logan County in the coming weeks, reinforcing a shared community commitment to preparing students for success beyond high school.
