On 03-05-2026 at 1027 hours the Findlay Police Department responded to 1322 Glenhaven Drive apartment G for a trespassing in progress call. The caller reported that Sonny Flugga (22 years old of Findlay, Ohio) was in her apartment and refusing to leave. Sonny is former romantic partner of the caller.

When officers arrived they attempted to make contact with the resident at the door. Speaking through the door, she indicated that Sonny was refusing to let her leave by physically blocking her way out. Sonny then indicated that he had a firearm, would shoot her, and would shoot police if they tried to enter. It was determined there was also a friend of the resident in the apartment.

The incident was determined to be a hostage situation. The Findlay Police Department Crisis Management Team was activated for response. Patrol units and Crisis Negotiators began attempting to de-escalate the situation through conversation at the door.

The resident and her friend were able to be safely evacuated from the apartment via a ladder to the second floor balcony. Negotiations with Sonny continued. At approximately 1136 hours Sonny surrendered to police. There were no injuries.

Sonny is currently incarcerated at the Hancock County Justice Center on charges of:

Domestic Violence – ORC 2919.25(c) (Misdemeanor 1)
Kidnapping (2 counts) – ORC 2905.01(a) (Felony 2)
Obstructing Official Business – ORD 525.07 (Misdemeanor 2)
