The Findlay Police Department received a report about a suspicious device behind a business in that city Wednesday afternoon.

According to a release, officers responded to the Stop and Go Gas Station located at 800 West Trenton Avenue at just after 2:30pm.

Upon arrival, officers observed an object designed to resemble a claymore-style explosive device, with wires protruding from the top.

Due to the potential risk, The Allen County Bomb Squad was requested to respond, and officers established a safety perimeter to prevent bystanders from entering the area.

The Allen County Bomb Squad determined the device was not an actual explosive, and the item was safely removed.

The scene was then cleared without incident.
