Area Agency on Aging 3 will be holding a virtual public hearing on April 7th, 2026 at 11:00 AM for comment and discussion on its proposed four-year Strategic Area Plan (2027-2030) as well as potential intent to seek direct service waivers from the Ohio Department of Aging regarding Title III-C Nutrition Services Program (including Title III-C1 Congregate Meals and Title III-C2 Home Delivered Meals) and III-D Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, specific to the Older Americans Act, for the duration of the area plan. Requested amounts are based on 2026 awards as awards for 2027 have yet to be released.
In the event an adequate supply of service provision, based on findings identified through this assessment process cannot be established for the years 2027-30, the agency intends to request a waiver for use of service dollars to fund the direct administration of Nutrition as well as Prevention and Health Promotion Services.
Waivers would include the request to fund the direct administration of Title III-C Nutrition Services in the amount of $90,000. Regarding Title III-D Prevention and Health Promotion Services, the agency intends to request a waiver for use of service dollars in the amount of $26,358. Both waivers include the AAA’s seven-county region.
Waivers are requested to provide for continuation of care with program determination and navigation specific to nutrition as well as direct delivery and community coordination of evidence-based programming throughout the entirety of the service region.
