Obituary for Scott Matthew Iams

Scott Matthew Iams, 57, of Dunkirk, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026 at the Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born in Tiffin, Ohio, on April 13, 1968 the son of Donald and Linda (Aurand) Iams.

Survivors include his mother, and his brother, Craig (Jennifer) Iams, of Findlay. Preceding him in death was his father.

Scott was a 1986 graduate of Hardin Northern High School and attended the University of Findlay, and Lima Tech. He was a student ministries coordinator at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Findlay and was a youth minister at Arlington United Methodist Church. He volunteered at Lakeside for various jobs and was a summer chaplain with the Appalachian Service project. Scott also enjoyed watching the Detroit Tiger’s. He donated his eyes and that will allow two people to restore their sight.

There will be no services at this time. Scott’s ashes will be spread on the St. Mary’s River in Michigan at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Silver Creek Church, Kenton.
