Two people died and another person was injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred on North Blanchard Street in Findlay Tuesday afternoon.

According to a release from the Findlay Police Department, 30-year-old Devante McBeth was driving south on Blanchard approaching the intersection of Crystal Avenue when, according to a front seat passenger, he suffered a medical emergency.

That caused McBeth to accelerate at a high rate of speed, and the passenger attempted to steer the vehicle but was unable to maintain control.

The car traveled off the right side of the road where it struck a parked vehicle, a utility pole, and a tree before coming to rest.

McBeth and a back seat passenger, identified as 31-year-old Breanna Garvey, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The front seat passenger, 38-year-old Christopher Hook, was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital with serious injuries.

All of the occupants are from Fostoria.

The crash remains under investigation.
