
The Kenton Wildcats Boys Tennis Team traveled to Ottawa to take on the Titans Tuesday night.
The Titans started strong, taking the 3rd and 2nd singles matches with Xander Verhoff beating Richard Huang 6-0, 6-0, and Dawson Boninsegna topping Seth Spencer 6-1, 6-1. Kenton answered back in doubles, as Cale Harshfield and Wyatt Campbell won over Sam Warnecke and Gavin Bockrath 6-3, 6-3, and Jack Whitmer and Ethan McNamara defeated Greg Rosengarten and Brady Wilson 6-1, 6-3. It all came down to 1st singles, where Garraden Wirbel dropped the first set to Noah Compton 5-7, rallied to win the second 6-2, and sealed the comeback with another 6-2 in the third. The Wildcats edged the Titans 3-2, improving to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in the WBL.
In JV action, Leighton Wirbel and Tate Ketcham won 8-5. Brady Cole and Gatlin Davis lost 5-6, Brian Rogers and Parker Benson fell 6-8, and Jace Murphy and Jackson Blue were defeated 1-8.
The Wildcats are back in action Thursday as they travel to St. Marys for another WBL match.
