The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office Young Individuals Educating Local Drivers, or Y.I.E.L.D., Program will host a realistic emergency response simulation for Hancock County students on April 24.

It will start at 10am at the Hancock County Fairgrounds in Findlay.

The purpose of the event is to provide an informational and educational experience for young drivers by raising awareness of the dangers associated with unsafe driving habits, particularly distracted and impaired driving.

The demonstration is designed to create a lasting impact and reinforce the importance of safe, responsible driving.

The mock crash simulation will feature student actors and active participation from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Allen Township Fire Department and HANCO EMS.

Because of the serious and emotional nature of the event, parents and community members are advised that the simulation may appear graphic.

Counselors from the Family Resource Center will be available on site to assist any student or other attendees who may have an emotional response to the presentation.
