From backyard gardens to forests and agricultural lands, everything begins with what is beneath our feet. Soil is not just the ground we walk on. It is the starting point for healthy food, clean water, thriving habitats, and resilient communities. The trees in our neighborhoods, the food on our tables, and the natural places we love all depend on healthy soils.

Join the Hardin Soil and Water Conservation District, in partnership with the National Association of Conservation Districts, as they celebrate Stewardship Week 2026, from April 26 – May 3.

This year’s theme is “Soil. Where it All Begins.” Whether it’s reducing erosion by limiting tillage or maintaining soil nutrients and structure by planting cover crops in your field or garden, there are steps we can all take to protect soil health.

The Hardin Soil and Water Conservation District invites you to celebrate Stewardship Week and help make a positive impact on our environment.
