Benjamin Logan High School senior Thomas Smith has officially signed to continue his academic and athletic career at Alfred State College, where he will play football for the Pioneers.

Smith, a standout member of the Raider football program, plans to pursue a degree in Welding Technology. He selected Alfred State for its strong team culture and highly regarded welding program.

“I really liked the culture of the football team and the welding program,” Smith said.

Throughout his high school career, Smith has demonstrated the work ethic and coachability that he believes will contribute to his success at the collegiate level. While playing college football had always been a goal, he noted that it became a realistic opportunity during his junior year.

At Alfred State, Smith looks forward to making an immediate impact. “I want to make the biggest impact I can on the team,” he said.

Smith is the son of Curtis and Stacy Smith. He was coached at Benjamin Logan by Head Coach Paul Jenne.
