Findlay, Ohio — The City of Findlay and Findlay-Hancock County Economic Development (FHCED) have announced that Findlay has been officially recognized as an Ohio Premier Life Sciences Ready Community through the Ohio Life Sciences Association.

This prestigious designation places Findlay among a select group of communities across Ohio recognized for having the sites, infrastructure, workforce assets, and leadership commitment necessary to support growth in the life sciences sector. The designation highlights Findlay’s readiness to attract companies involved in biotechnology, medical devices, advanced manufacturing, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, and other innovation-driven industries.

“This recognition is another example of Findlay’s commitment to building a strong and future-focused economy,” said Mayor Christina Muryn. “Our strategic plan emphasizes economic diversification, talent attraction, quality jobs, and preparing our community for the industries of tomorrow. Being named a Life Sciences Ready Community puts Findlay on the map for high-tech investment and signals that we are ready to compete for transformational opportunities.”

The Ohio Life Sciences Association noted Findlay’s strategic location, access to I-75, robust utility capacity, developable industrial and commercial land, and adjacency to the Findlay Airport. These assets, combined with a strong local workforce and collaborative leadership, make Findlay uniquely positioned for growth in one of the fastest-growing sectors of the economy.

“This designation reflects years of partnership and preparation,” said Matt Gilroy, Director of Strategic Initiatives for FHCED. “Findlay-Hancock County Economic Development is committed to working alongside the City of Findlay to attract both established and emerging industries that create highwage jobs and long-term opportunity for our residents. The life sciences sector is an exciting area for future growth, and Findlay is ready.”

The life sciences industry represents a major opportunity for communities seeking to expand into resilient, knowledge-based sectors that offer strong wages and career pathways. As national demand grows for domestic manufacturing, healthcare innovation, and advanced research capabilities, Findlay is well-positioned to compete.

This achievement supports the City of Findlay’s broader strategic vision to continue investing in infrastructure, strengthen workforce pipelines, encourage innovation, and create a more diverse local economy that benefits future generations.

Together, the City of Findlay and Findlay-Hancock County Economic Development will continue building relationships, marketing the community’s strengths, and pursuing opportunities that bring quality employers and sustainable growth to the region.
