Wildcats Punch Their Ticket to Regionals in Nine Events

The Kenton Wildcats had a phenomenal showing at this year’s OHSAA district track & field meet. Eight Wildcats in total secured a spot at regionals in Piqua next week.

The girls’ 4x800m relay team of Marissa Ledley, Quinlyn Spearman, Addy Haudenschield, and Addi Manns took 4th place to advance. Spearman and Manns also qualified individually, with Spearman winning the district title in the 800m and Manns moving on in both the 1600m and 3200m. Tommy Mustaine advanced with a 2nd place finish in pole vault, clearing 13’4″. Garry Phipps earned 3rd in the 800m to qualify, while Wade Manns claimed the district championship in the boys’ 3200m and took 2nd in the 1600m to move on in both events. The Wildcats also celebrated another district champion as Gavin Sealscott won the 100m with an impressive time of 11.12.
