Memorial Day Parades, Flyovers and Services Planned Across Hardin County Today

The Memorial Day Parade in Kenton, presented by the City of Kenton Government, Kenton Lions Club, Rescue Grove Chapel Committee and Kenton Historic Courthouse District, will take place this morning.

Line-up will start at 9:30 a.m. at the Mary Lou Johnson Library parking lot and the parade moves out at 10:20 a.m.

It will proceed west on Columbus Street, turn left on Main, left on Franklin, and move east to Jacob Parrot Boulevard, where it will turn left and end the TSC parking lot.

The G.A.R. Grand Army of the Republic–Veterans, Cantwell Post 97, Kenton, will also be in attendance with Civil War reenactors, bringing history to life.

In addition, the 180th Fighter Wing of the Ohio National Guard has confirmed that F-16 Fighter Falcon’s will do a flyover event during the parade at approximately 10:24 a.m.

Also on this Memorial Day, the Antique Car Show and Petroliana Swap Meet, sponsored by Mt. Victory Community Improvement Corporation, is taking place in Mt. Victory.

Car registration and the swap meet begin at 9:00 a.m.

Each registered car is entered to win a pedal car giveaway, which will take place at 3:30 this afternoon.

This is a non-judged car show.

Displays of gas, oil and automotive memorabilia are for show or for sale.

The Ada VFW will also be hosting their Memorial Day service at 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ada.

A flyover is also set to take place over Dunkirk at 11:27 a.m.

Line up for the parade will be at 12:30 at the Dunkirk Dairy Dream and the parade will start at 1:00 this afternoon.

The parade will make its way to the Dunkirk Cemetery where a program will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Also, lineup for the Memorial Day Parade in Alger will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the Old Alger School.

The parade will kick-off at 2:00 p.m.  This parade travels down Main Street turns right onto Lee Street and right onto McConnell Street, ending back at the old school in Alger.
