Kenton Native Chase Fleece Named Carter Historic Farm Coordinator

A former employee of WKTN has been named by the Wood County Park District has the Carter Historic Farm Coordinator.

Chase Fleece will oversee all activities at Carter Historic Farm including farming operations, programming and events, animal care, and overall maintenance of the site.

Park District Executive Director Chris Smalley stated that Fleece has exceptional depth of knowledge and much practical, hands-on agriculture experience.

Fleece is a graduate of Kenton High School, and he graduated with a Master of Arts degree from Bowling Green State University in May 2025.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in history and a minor in political science.

Over the past few months, Fleece has been a presenter for The Great Depression Lecture Series as a part of Wood County’s America 250 celebration.

Fleece will give a presentation on June 3 about The Great Depression Lecture Series – “New Deal Ecology: The Dust Bowl and the Navajo Livestock Reduction Program”.

The free presentation will take place at 6:00 that evening at the Wood County Museum Meeting Room.

The Wood County Museum is located at 13660 County Home Road in Bowling Green.
