
The Benjamin Logan Envirothon team earned First Place in the Ohio Envirothon Oral Presentation competition for their innovative project proposal focused on transforming a 74-acre golf course along the Ohio River into an engaging community destination centered on recreation, conservation, and environmental education.
During the competition, students presented their vision for improving a small river community by creating opportunities for outdoor recreation and entertainment while promoting conservation efforts and stewardship of natural resources. Their proposal emphasized balancing community development with environmental sustainability and highlighted the importance of protecting and educating others about the Ohio River ecosystem.

The team’s presentation included creative ideas for outdoor learning experiences, conservation initiatives, recreational activities, and increased community involvement. Judges recognized the group for their outstanding research, collaboration, professionalism, and ability to develop practical solutions that benefit both the environment and the local community.

Throughout the competition, students also demonstrated their environmental knowledge in the areas of aquatics, wildlife, forestry, and soils.
