Summer is full of fun outdoor adventures, family time, and community celebrations, but for individuals with autism, it can also bring changes in routine, sensory challenges, and unexpected disruptions.
Hardin County Board of Developmental Disabilities / Simon Kenton School said since school is out, routines have changed, so you should be patient as new routines are developed.
Spontaneous hangouts can cause changes and meltdowns, so plan ahead if possible.
Vacations are overwhelming, so give plenty of time to prepare.
