The Hardin County Business & Professional Women’s Club met at the Olive Garden Restaurant in Lima on June 10 at 6:15 pm. Pres. Sandy Moore welcomed four members to Ladies Night Out which is the final meeting before summer.

After the delicious dinner, Scholarship Chairman Vanessa Brim distributed applications for the scholarship so that members could review and discuss. Treasurer Connie Dietz suggested to award $500 as the 2026 scholarship to an applicant who is half way through higher learning in college or technical school. All members agreed. Brim will arrange for a meeting for photos at the Mary Lou Johnson Library.

It was voted to award the scholarship to Kaitlin Phillips, daughter of Todd and April Phillips, of Mt. Victory. She is pursuing a degree in Nursing at Rhodes State College in Lima.

A short club meeting followed. Dues of $36 can be paid to Treas. Dietz at this meeting. Sec. Frederick’s report was accepted. Treas. Dietz’s report was filed for audit. There was no report for the Sunshine Fund. There was nothing to report for the Helen Mabrey Shoe Fund from Director Moore. She expects more purchases of free shoes for age 4 pre-school through grade 12 students in Hardin County from Shoe Sensation when school begins in the fall. Applications can be found at Helping Hands in Kenton.

Discussion followed for volunteers to hostess meetings for 2026-27. Sept. 23 is Vanessa Brim. Oct. 28 is Connie Dietz. (There are no meetings in Nov., Dec., Jan., and Feb.) Mar. 24 is Sandy Moore. Apr. 28 is Norma Frederick. May 26 is Patty Garmon. Each hostess arranges a speaker and place.

Having no other business, Pres. Moore adjourned the meeting and wished all a great summer.
