Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart is warning Hardin County residents about a scam.
Scammers are calling residents claiming to be “Sergeant Everhart” from the Sheriff’s Office, and the say they have a warrant for the resident for missing jury duty, but if they pay them money over the phone the warrant will be dismissed.
Sheriff, not Sergeant, Everhart stated that is not how the justice system works.
They do not call people who have a warrant and they never take money over the phone for bond or bail.
If you get a call like that, just hang up and call the Sheriff’s Office at 419-673-1268 to report them.

Well folks, the bad guys are at it again. Today they have decided to call Hardin County residents claiming to be Sergeant Everhart from the Sheriff’s Office.
