United Way of Hardin County Kicks Off Campaign with Day of Caring

KENTON, OH — August 24, 2026 — United Way of Hardin County launched its annual campaign with a successful Day of Caring, held August 21 and 22.

The two-day volunteer effort brought together 40 community volunteers who rolled up their sleeves to support local organizations and make a lasting impact throughout Hardin County.

Volunteers worked on projects at the Hardin County YMCA, Neighborhood Opportunity Center, Lake of Lights, and Hardin County Council on Aging. Through cleaning and improvement projects that help organizations prepare their facilities to better serve the community, volunteers donated their time, energy, and skills to make a difference.

“Day of Caring is a wonderful way to see the spirit of Hardin County in action,” said Martha Nau, Executive Director, United Way of Hardin County. “Our volunteers gave their time to organizations that work every day to strengthen our community. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated and to the agencies that welcomed our volunteers.”

The Day of Caring is part of United Way of Hardin County’s 2026/27 Campaign Kick-Off, which launches the organization’s fundraising efforts to support programs and services that address important needs throughout Hardin County. United Way of Hardin County would like to extend a sincere thank you to all 40 volunteers who participated, as well as to the Hardin County YMCA, Neighborhood Opportunity Center, Land of Lakes, and Hardin County Council on Aging for partnering in this community-wide effort.

The impact of United Way goes far beyond a single day.
