Kenton/Hardin County Soroptimists Seek Donations for Dignity Bag Project
The Kenton/Hardin County Soroptimist International is asking for community support to help with supplies for its Dignity Bag Project.
The project provides essential menstrual hygiene products to local women and girls who may be experiencing period poverty.
According to Period.org, in the United States, two in five adults struggle to afford period products, while nearly one in four students faces the same barrier. The impact is even greater among lower-income students, at 34%.
Period poverty is considered a symptom of broader systemic inequities and disproportionately affects people who are already experiencing financial or social disadvantages.
The Kenton/Hardin County Soroptimist International is currently seeking donations of 100 light liners, 100 regular liners, 200 light pads, 50 regular pads, 100 heavy pads, 200 light tampons and 100 beige bags.
Community members can purchase needed items through the organization’s Amazon Wish List, with donations shipped directly to the Soroptimists.
