
A graveside service for Samuel M. Dalton, 95, of Kenton, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the Grove Cemetery Committal building, with Ryan Martin officiating. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Samuel passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Vancrest of Ada. He was born on July 18, 1931, in Warren County, Ohio, to the late Elon C. and Doris (Pratt) Dalton. On November 9, 1957, he married Marilyn Water, who survives in Kenton.
Also surviving are his daughter, Delores Dalton of Kenton; his son, Thomas A. (Lisa) Dalton of Kenton; and his grandchild, Rachel Dalton of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Dalton; a brother, William E. Dalton; and a sister, Naomi Holderbaum.
Samuel was a lifelong farmer. He was an active member of the Hardin County Farm Bureau and the Painter Creek Grange, and he was inducted into the Hardin County Agriculture Hall of Fame in 2023. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan, whether supporting football or women’s basketball.
Memorial contributions in Samuel’s honor may be made to the Kenton FFA or the Painter Creek Grange.
