Findlay, OH–Marathon Center for the Performing Arts (MCPA) announced yesterday that Kristen Pickens will become the organization’s Director of Development and Communications, effective October 11.
The new role brings fundraising, donor relations, and communications together into one department. The change grew out of MCPA’s new strategic plan, which centers on a simple idea: every person who walks through the Center’s doors, whether as a ticket buyer, donor, or volunteer, is on the same journey with MCPA.
“Kristen’s promotion reflects the caliber of leadership we’re building at MCPA,” said Heather J. Clow, President & CEO. “She has a proven ability to build relationships and tell MCPA’s story, and this role puts those strengths at the center of how we grow.”
In her new position, Pickens will lead MCPA’s fundraising strategy, donor stewardship, and public communications, strengthening the connection between supporters and the programming they make possible.
“It’s a privilege to be part of an organization that means so much to this community, and I’m excited for the opportunity to serve MCPA in this expanded role,” Kristen said. “Our donors, patrons, volunteers and community partners are all part of what makes MCPA thrive. I look forward to strengthening those connections, sharing the incredible stories happening here every day, and helping create an even stronger future for MCPA.”
