For the first time in nearly a quarter century the Upper Sandusky High School boys cross country team has qualified for the OHSAA State Championship. After narrowly missing qualification last season, the Rams dominated in 2026, winning the N10 by 20 points. They then placed second at districts and fourth at regionals on their path to the state championship.

Although it has been 24 years since the Rams made it to state as a team, Carter Pohlman will be competing there for the second consecutive season after qualifing individually last year. Upper Sandusky will also have representation in the girls’ state championship through Jocelyn Leighty, who earned her second consecutive trip with a ninth-place finish.

The 2026 OHSAA State Cross Country Championships will be held at Fortress Obetz and Memorial Park on November 7th.
