A lightning strike ignited a house fire in Wyandot County over the weekend.

According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office, the homeowner, Brandy Fredritz, stated that the family was inside Saturday night when they saw the flash of lightning and shortly afterward, they looked out and saw what they thought was fog but quickly realized it was smoke.

The family made it out of the house safely.
