The butter sculpture at this year’s Ohio State Fair recognizes the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11 landing on the moon.

One of the sculptures is of Neil Armstrong, a native of Wapakoneta, as he salutes the American flag on the surface of the moon.

There is also a life sculpture of the three astronauts, Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins.

Five artists worked for around 500 hours to complete the sculptures which will be on display at the fair starting Wednesday July 24 and running through Sunday August 4 in Columbus.
