There is still time to purchase 2021 dog tags in Hardin County without a penalty.
The fee for a 2021 dog license is $20.
If an application for registration is not filed on or before January 31, the Hardin County Auditor will assess a penalty of $20.
Every dog three months of age and older must have a license.
Beginning in February, officers will be visiting door to door, and anyone harboring an unlicensed dog will be cited into court where they could receive a fine of up to $150.
Dogs tags are on sale at several businesses and veterinary clinics around the county.
