Elderly Continue to be Top Target for Scammers

Area law enforcement agencies continue to receive complaints from persons being scammed out of money; especially the elderly.  

Loved ones are urged to take time to explain to seniors, both family and neighbors, the pitfalls of strangers attempting to gain their trust and eventually their savings.  

Advise them against purchasing large amounts of gift cards and giving strangers on the phone the serial numbers.  

Any reputable company or agency will never ask for payment in this manner.
