Celina Man Killed in Crash Thursday Afternoon in Roundhead

A Celina man died in a crash that occurred Thursday afternoon at the intersection of State Routes 235 and 117 in Roundhead.

According to a release from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, Richard Colbert was driving east on 235 and attempted to turn north onto 117.

He turned into the path of and his car was struck by a southbound semi being operated by Larsen Butrus-Ayoob Al-Najjar, of Michigan.

Colbert was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner’s Office.

Al-Najjar was not injured.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Logan County Sheriff’s Office, Multi-County Crash Investigation Team, BMRT EMS, Richland Township Fire Department, Roundhead Fire and Minich’s Towing all assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
