Together, OhioHealth Hardin Memorial Hospital and the Armory would like to announce the transition of the Mistletoe Ball. While the Mistletoe Ball Committee of the hospital’s foundation organized and hosted the annual ball as a fundraiser for the hospital the past several years, the time has come to pass the torch.

“We are excited the Armory will be going forward with this long-standing holiday gala. When we revived it 29 years ago the community embraced it, supported it and made it the premier event that it is today. Under the guidance of the Armory we know it will continue to enjoy success and the community support,” stated Linda Smith, previous co-chair of the event.

Ron Snyder, President of Hardin Memorial Hospital said, “We are so grateful for the dedication the committee has given to this event over the past several years. Because of their support, it gave us strength to continue our mission and to invest in needed state-of-the-art equipment.” Both the committee and the hospital’s leadership team are happy to know the members of the Armory board have decided to continue the tradition.

Sherri Haushalter, previous co-chair of the Mistletoe Ball committee, expressed gratitude to the attendees and long-time supporters of the event, saying “Together we raised almost a million dollars for our local hospital! We did this with local talent, local donations, local people – we did it to make our hospital and our community better!” Additionally, she pointed out the talent and countless hours donated by the many committee members who served over the years.

Ed Rogers, representing the Armory board, expressed the board’s excitement to continue offering this event to the community at the Armory. “Having such a lovely venue right in Kenton is something many of our citizens appreciate. In addition, we have people who travel to have their wedding and events at a venue so unique. The opportunity to continue the Mistletoe Ball and use the funds to continue to improve the Armory was an idea that immediately struck a chord with the members of the board.”

The Mistletoe Ball will be held Saturday, December 4th at the Armory. A casino night is being planned in the upper level with dancing and socializing on the lower level. A full dinner catered by the Syndicate will be offered and the committee is planning to continue with the traditional silent and live auctions, as well as adding a penny raffle.

If you would like to volunteer to assist in putting on this event, please call Cheryl Sorgen of the Armory Board at 567-674-5618.
