Authorities Determined There was No Active Shooter Situation at Ball Metal in Findlay

On Sunday September 12th, 2021at 4:05PM, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office received an alert for an active shooter at Ball Corporation, 12340 CR 99 Findlay, OH. 

Road patrol units from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Findlay Police Department, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded and began clearing the building.  The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team along with the Findlay Police Department’s Emergency Response Team responded and performed an additional search of the building.

After the building was searched, the incident was determined not to be an active shooter scene.  At 6:25PM, command of the building was turned over to Ball Corporation management.

The incident remains under investigation by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.

Assisting during the incident were the Findlay Police Department, The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Allen Township Fire Department, Findlay Fire Department, Hanco EMS, LifeFlight, Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office.
