HCSO Receiving Reports Concerning Scam Targeting Elderly Citizens

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office has been receiving reports of elderly citizens getting phone calls from a supposed law enforcement agency stating a loved one has been injured in another state. 

The callers are requesting money to assist in getting their loved one home. 

In all cases, you should request a call back number, hang up and personally contact your loved one to verify the caller’s story. 

You should also contact your local law enforcement agency for assistance.
