Kenton Volleyball traveled to Marion Harding to battle season 2023 opener. The Presidents took an early lead 9-5, before the Wildcats found their rhythm and prevailed 25-20. Both teams battled back and forth each point. Strong defensive play and aggressive net play attributed to the Wildcats’ win.
Macee Heckathorn lead net attack with 14 kills, 6 blocks and Sadie Larrabee had 10 kills and 16 blocks. Rounding out attacking was Morgan Lyons 5 kills, 4 blocks; Mya Good 5 kills and Cailyn Hopkins 4 kills.
Behind the serving stripe, Riley Totten scoring with 8 pts, 2 aces; Mya Good 7 pts, 2 aces; Morgan Lyons 7 pts, 1 ace; Chloe Pleasant 6pts, 2 aces.
Leading defense Brynn Bulter 18 receptions, 32 digs; Mya Good 13 receptions, 7 digs and Riley Totten 9 receptions, 8 digs.
Kenton’s JV squad fell short in 3 sets, 14-25, 25-19, 21-25.
Kenton’s Freshman squad lost in 2 sets, 7-25, 11-25.
Kenton will be back in action Tuesday Aug 22nd at Ada.
