Story About Dog Missing for Two Weeks has Happy Ending

A Kenton family, whose pet dog went missing two weeks ago, has a happy ending.

The Miller family said that Sanders, an 11 year old Golden Retriever/Yellow Lab mix, ran away on the morning of June 6.

Devin Miller recalls how it happened, “I was working on my car, didn’t think to close the gate, he never leaves outside of the gate. It just so happened the one time that I left it open, he did end up leaving.”

After searching and asking others if they saw him, Miller turned to Facebook, “Yes it’s a good way to spread the word, especially in today’s day and age of social media and everything.”

Miller said that gave the family hope that Sanders was still alive because of all the reports from people who say they spotted him around Kenton.

Miller said he was slowly giving up hope as the days went by, but that all changed when yesterday morning (Thursday, June 19) , nearly two weeks to the day and time he ran away, Sanders came back home, “He ended up running under our porch, and luckily my mother was home and she was able to get him out and get him inside. He got bathed and everything, so every since then, he’s been on the floor sleeping.”

Other than a few to be expected scratches, he is very healthy.

Miller said he has a lot of people to thank for helping in the search effort, “There’s too many people. I can’t name anybody in particular, but anybody who helped, reached out, gave me locations of the dog, they’re very greatly appreciated.”
