Allen County Teenager Dead After Shooting in that County

A 15 year old boy who was shot this past Sunday in Allen County has died.

According to a release, deputies from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence in the 11,000 block of Slabtown Road, and when they arrived,  personnel from Putnam County EMS were attempting lifesaving measures.

The boy was transported to Mercy Health in Lima where he died.

Another 15 year old male was taken into custody at the scene.  

He is currently being held at the Allen County Juvenile Detention Center. 

The suspect and victim were family members ,and actions that led to the shooting are still being investigated. 

After a preliminary investigation, it appears that the shooting was likely unintentional. 

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau.
