Hardin County Community Foundation Reports $15 Million in Assets at Quarterly Meeting

The Hardin County Community Foundation reported assets of more than $15 million as of Dec. 31, 2025, at its quarterly meeting Tuesday afternoon in Kenton. Its assets have grown to $15,316,923, reported Treasurer Jannette Jacobs. It was the foundation’s first meeting since the passing of original board member Charles VanDyne, who was remembered with a moment of silence. He was awarded emeritus status on the board. Hardin County Council on Aging Hardin County Council on Aging is calling on Euchre fans to join them on Thursday, February 19. The event is open to anyone age 60 and over who lives in Hardin County. Marion Township Fire Department Adds New Ambulance to Service

Marion Township Fire Department Marion Township Fire Department placed a new vehicle into service Wednesday. Medic 305 was added at Station 2 in the Marion County department. It is a 2024 Lifeline Ambulance on a Ram 5500 chassis. It replaces a 2016 Lifeline which will be placed in reserve. Fire Department officials said it is possible due to the continued support from residents and voters.

Ada Conducts First Test of New Outdoor Warning Siren System

The first test of Ada's new outdoor warning siren system was on Wednesday. According to the Ada Police Department, early reports indicate the mission to increase coverage was successful, but they said they always value community awareness. Ada residents can expect to hear these tests every Wednesday between 11 AM and Noon, unless there is a risk of actual severe weather. Kenton Middle/High School Resumes Normal Operations After Pipe Burst

Kenton Middle and High School returned to normal operations today with students reporting at the normal time. A fire suppression line burst in the Middle School wing. The pipe was repaired and the impacted areas were remediated and cleaned Tuesday afternoon. Repairs to the fire alarm and suppression systems were inspected and passed by the Kenton Fire Department Wednesday morning.
