The first test of Ada’s new outdoor warning siren system was on Wednesday.
According to the Ada Police Department, early reports indicate the mission to increase coverage was successful, but they said they always value community awareness.
Ada residents can expect to hear these tests every Wednesday between 11 AM and Noon, unless there is a risk of actual severe weather.
Residents are being reminded that if they didn’t hear the siren while inside their house, that is normal.
To ensure you are alerted while indoors, you should utilize wireless phone alerts, a NOAA weather radio, or tune into local broadcasters when severe weather is likely.
