Annual Deer-Gun Week Concludes for Ohio Hunters

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio’s white-tailed deer hunters finished the weeklong gun season with 63,493 deer taken, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. Helen Elizabeth Wright age 96, of Upper Sandusky, died on Thursday December 5, 2019 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 30, 1923 to the late William C. and Kathryn (Messmer) Binau. She married Francis Ronald Wright on October 29, 1960 and he survives in Upper Sandusky. She is also survived by her daughter Mary Kathryn Wright, Upper Sandusky. HCCBA To Announce New Leadership

The Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance will be holding a press conference Friday November 15th at 10:30am. The purpose of the press conference will be to introduce the new President and CEO as well as the new Economic Development Director.    An Open house will follow from 11am until 1pm with a light lunch to be provided. Alliance members, county officials, media, and community members are encouraged to stop by, meet and welcome the new leadership.

Board Of Elections To Hold Official Canvass

The Hardin County board of elections will hold their official canvass on Monday November 18th at 9am. The canvass will be held in the Board of Elections of the Hardin County Courthouse. In addition, the meeting will include paying bills and certifying minutes.

Kenton Man Arrested Monday Late Afternoon

A Kenton man was arrested Monday afternoon. According to the Kenton Police report, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of King Street just after 5pm in response to a domestic disturbance.  Upon arrival officers arrested Jesse L. Risner of Kenton for domestic violence and obstructing justice. The report showed that Risner was armed with an unspecified weapon when arrested and the victim received minor injuries. No further information was available on the report.

Winter Comes Early

Winter came early to the region bringing an unofficial amount of approximately 5 inches of snow and creating slippery conditions. All Hardin County schools, along with a majority of schools in our region, closed for today. Most of the schools announced a 2 hour delay last night in advance of the winter weather advisory.
