Man Attempts to Pass Counterfeit Money at Kenton Store

A male suspect attempted to pass counterfeit money at Village Pantry Thursday night.   According to the Kenton Police Department report, the man had two $20 bills, but when the employee checked the bills, she discovered they were counterfeit.   The man stated he didn't know and left the store.   The employee was not able to get a good description of the vehicle or a plate number due to the snow.

Richwood Man Arrested on Warrant

A Richwood man was arrested in Marion County this past Wednesday.   According to the Daily Media Release from the Union County Sheriff's Office, a deputy met with a Marion Police Officer and took custody of 26 year old Destyn C. Jordan on an outstanding arrest warrant.   He was transported to the Tri County Regional Jail.

Dominion Energy Makes Contribution to Food Bank

As part of its ongoing commitment to communities, Dominion Energy, parent company of Dominion Energy Ohio, is contributing a $10,000 Critical Community Needs Grant to West Ohio Food Bank in Lima. The local grant is part of $155,000 in such grants presented in Ohio and an overall $1.6 million overall awarded to more than 200 nonprofit organizations providing essential human services in 12 states. Marysville State of the City Address Scheduled

The City of Marysville will hold its 2019 State of the City Address on Thursday, February 21st at The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company on Scottslawn Road in Marysville.   The annual address will celebrate 2018 accomplishments, review the City's current standing, and provide a preview of planned initiatives for 2019.   The event is free and open to the public. Due to limited seating, guests are required to RSVP at eventbrite.com.

Roger Shepherd

Roger Shepherd, age 52 of Dunkirk, OH, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Blanchard Valley Hospital. He was born on August 24, 1966 in Kenton to Roger and Kandy (Powell) Shepherd.  Roger married Sherri Reedy on September 23, 1993 and she survives along with five children: Nicholas Reedy of Celina, Benjamin Shepherd of MO, Michael Reedy of Celina, Devin Shepherd and Natasha Reedy both of Dunkirk.  He is also survived by his parents, three brothers: Michael (Diana) Shepherd […]
