The Silver Creek Community Church on County Road 115 is hosting its Ice Cream Social tomorrow starting at 4:30. The event is open to everyone The food menu includes beef or chicken and homemade noodles, sloppy joes & hot dogs as well as homemade cakes, cookies, pies and of course ice cream. The Hardin Northern Marching Band finished up band camp Thursday night. A Parent Preview concert was performed last evening. During camp, the band prepared half-time shows for Friday night football. Today, the marching band traveled to Cedar Point to march and perform.
The Hardin County Democratic Party officially opened its new headquarters to the public. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the new office this week. Party officials said that they look forward to serving the community from the new location. It is located at 3 North Detroit Street in downtown Kenton.
Hardin County Sheriff's Deputies were involved in a two county high-speed pursuit earlier this week. According to a release issued Wednesday evening, the pursuit began at 11:33 pm August 8 when deputies observed the vehicle being operated in excess of the posted speed limit on North Detroit Street in the City of Kenton. The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) today announced that it has awarded $800,000 in hazardous training grants to 21 applicants. In our region, the Findlay Fire Department will receive $23,500 to provide a 40-hour hazardous material technician training course for 40 personnel.
