BLUFFTON, Ohio—Dr. Luke Myers, associate professor of physics at Bluffton University, will present the Colloquium, “New Deuteron Compton Scattering Results from MAX IV.”
It will start at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 14 in Centennial Hall’s Stutzman Lecture Hall on the Bluffton campus.
During the presentation, Myers will discuss a new way of analyzing data taken from deuteron Compton scattering. Myers states that “deuteron Compton scattering is a physical reaction in which high-energy photons are scattered off a deuterium target.
These results, when combined with current models of the nucleus, provide a better understanding of the structure and electromagnetic response of the neutron.”
This event is free and open to the public.
