Two Kenton Men Charged with Theft

Two men were charged following a shoplifting incident at Walmart in Kenton late Thursday afternoon.   According to the report, officers were dispatched to the store just after 5 to reference to the theft.   The two suspects are alleged to have stolen two cell phone cases and cell phone screens.   19 year old Cody Wilson and 22 year old Kale Mohn, both of Kenton, were each issued a summons for theft.

Crash Reported on Columbus Street Thursday

A minor crash occurred in the 200 block of East Columbus Street Thursday afternoon.   According to the Kenton Police Department report, a vehicle driven by 67 year old Geoffrey Wedding, of Raymond, Ohio, was stopped for traffic on Columbus when it was struck from behind by a car being driven by 35 year old Amanda Smith, of Kenton.   Minor damage occurred to the vehicles, and there were no injuries.   No citations were listed on the report.

Kenton Schools Holding Community Meeting

The Kenton City Schools is holding a community meeting to discuss the Ohio School Boards Association transportation study.   That recommends a two-tier busing system for the upcoming school year.   The findings along with the recommendations will be shared at the meeting and the community will have a chance to share their thoughts about the findings, suggestions for improvements, and concerns with the proposed plan.   The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 6:00 P.M. Two People Sentenced in Common Pleas Court

Two people were sentenced recently in Hardin County Common Pleas Court.   According to documents from Prosecutor Brad Bailey's Office:   .Tristan A. Mendenhall was sentenced to 11 months in prison on one count of possession of heroin. He was given credit for 107 days time served.   .Bryan M. Radcliffe was placed on five years community control with conditions on one count of tampering with evidence.   Both cases were heard by Judge Scott Barrett.

Money for book purchases has been awarded to the Hardin Northern Elementary Library.   Two books were purchased for the library with money donated by the Class of 1955 in memory of classmate Harold John Freed. Ada Kiwanis Holding Pancake and Sausage Day

The Ada Kiwanis Club 67th annual Pancake and Sausage Day is happening tomorrow.   It will be served Saturday from 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Ada High School Cafeteria.   Tickets are &7.00 in advance and $8.00 at the door.   They can still be purchased from any Ada Kiwanis member.

Former Roundhead McDonald Park Board Official Indicted on Nine Charges

The former Roundhead McDonald Park Board Fiscal Officer has been served an indictment on charges stemming from events which are alleged to have occurred from June to September of 2017. According to a release from Hardin County Prosecutor Brad Bailey's Office, Jennifer K. Henkle was charged in a nine count indictment that include charges of theft in office, money laundering, tampering with records and attempted theft in office. McBride Honored by Ohio 4-H Conference

Hardin County 4-H Volunteer Bob McBride was honored at the Ohio 4-H Conference in Columbus earlier this month. McBride was recognized by Interim Ohio 4-H Leader, Dr. Kirk Bloir, and Director of Extension, Dr. Roger Rennekamp, for 55 years of service to the Ohio 4-H Program. He is an advisor for the Blanchard Pleasant Buckeyes 4-H Club, as well as serving as a project judge in several counties.
