Hardin County Cattle Producers Host Annual Banquet

The Hardin County Beef Producers held their annual Beef Banquet at the Hardin County Fairgrounds this weekend. Marion Police Looking for Runaway Juvenile

The Marion County Police Department is asking for assistance in locating a runaway juvenile. 14 year old Isaac R. Mayse has been missing since March 18. He was last seen wearing white shoes, dark pants, black shirt and a blue and grey coat. Anyone with information is asked to call MPD at 740-387-2525.

Kenton City Council to Discuss Labor Negotiations Tonight

Kenton City Council is scheduled to meet tonight.   Under new business, an ordinance providing for additional appropriations for 2019 for the city of Kenton will be on first reading.   Council will also go into closed session to discuss labor negotiations.   The meeting will start at 7 this evening in the Kenton City Building.

HN FFA Members Wrap Up Winter Contest Season

Hardin Northern FFA members wrapped up their winter contest season this past weekend after competing at the state contest in Columbus. The chapter ran two teams this winter, Wildlife and General Livestock. The Wildlife team consisted of Cassidy Crooks, Camryn Earylwine and Ginnie Mills, all senior members of the chapter. This team competed at three contests this season which helped them gain more knowledge on Wildlife throughout the contest season. The team finished their season placing 52nd out of 72 […]

Snow and Ice Operations in Hardin County Less Costly Than Last Year

The cost of operations regarding snow and ice on state highways within Hardin County was cheaper than last year.   According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, the total cost from November of 2018 to the present was $644,855, compared to $828,313 last year.   This winter, 3007 tons of salt was used, which is about half as last year.   Crews used 27,940 gallons of de-icer, which was slightly more than last season.   The total cost of operations […]

Gas Prices on the Rise Around the Region

The average price for a gallon of gas in Hardin County rose 16 cents from last Monday.   AAA reported the average price for a gallon of regular grade gas was $2.49 today, compared to $2.33 last week.   The cheapest price in our region to start the week is in Hancock County at $2.46 a gallon.   The most expensive is in Marion County at $2.64 a gallon.   The statewide average is at $2.49 a gallon, and the […]
