The number of prescription opioids dispensed to Ohioans declined for the sixth consecutive year in 2018, according to a newly released report from the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy’s Ohio Automated Rx Reporting System (OARRS). From 2012 to 2018, the total number of opioids dispensed to Ohio patients decreased by 325 million doses or 41 percent. A sex offense was reported to Kenton police over the weekend. According to the report, a 5 year old Mt. Victory girl and a 7 year old boy from Rootstown, Ohio, were victims of a rape while at an address in the 300 block of North Detroit Street. Four Kenton residents were cited following a disturbance Sunday afternoon. According to the Kenton Police Department report, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of East Carroll Street to investigate a fight in the front yard. Officers issued citations to: 42 year old Kenneth Johnson 38 year old Daniel Johnson 31 year old Ashley Hudson 43 year old Jonathan Steele. All were charged with disorderly conduct.
A building was damaged by fire in Wyandot County over the weekend. According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, a structure fire occurred at a residence located at 303 West 10th Street in Sycamore that resulted in moderate smoke and fire damage to the unoccupied structure.
