Kenton Students to Have 4 Day Weekend

Kenton City School students are gearing up for a four day weekend.   Kenton will not be in session Friday, February 15, for Staff Professional Development and Monday, the 18th for Presidents’ Day.   Classes will resume Tuesday, February 19.

Area Churches Serving Free Hot Meal

A free hot meal will be served to the public this coming Saturday February 16.   The meal will be served from 11:30am to 12:30pm at the Trinity United Presbyterian Church located on the corner of West Columbus and Market Streets in Kenton.   This is a joint mission of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and Trinity United Presbyterian Church.

Semi Driver Injured in Auglaize County Roll Over Crash

An Indiana truck driver was injured in a roll over crash that occurred Tuesday morning in Auglaize County.   Hometown Stations reported that Travis Schimmel lost control of the semi while driving east on Deep Cut Road. The vehicle ended up rolling over near the intersection of Gaberdiel Road. The contents of the trailer, animal feed, spilled onto the roadway.   Schimmel was transported to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Kenton Man Charged with Disorderly Conduct

A Kenton man was arrested following an incident at the Mary Lou Johnson Library Tuesday evening.   According to the report, officers were dispatched to the library in reference to an intoxicated male causing problems inside.   Upon arrival, officers identified the intoxicated male as 34 year old Garrett Bays, who was taken into custody and transported to the Kenton Police Department.   According to a second report, Bays was held for nearly three hours during which time officers say […]

Fire Destroys Barn in Wyandot County

A barn was destroyed by fire Tuesday night in Wyandot County.   According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, the Sycamore Fire Department was dispatched to the property located in the 2000 block of State Highway 53 where the barn was fully engulfed in flames.   The owner, Brandon Swihart, told deputies that the only thing on in the barn were ceiling lights.   The fire destroyed the barn and damaged the siding on a nearby house. Sheriff Everhart Visits Washington D.C.

Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart was part of the National Sheriff's Association visit to our nation's capital. Hardin County – The final Conservation Tillage Club breakfast program series of the year will be on Tuesday, February 19 at the Plaza Inn Restaurant in Mt. Victory. Women of the Moose in Lima Donates to Crossroads

The Women of the Moose in Lima made a donation to an organization that helps individuals and their family who have experienced domestic violence.   Hometown Stations reported that the Crossroads Crisis Center was presented a check for $3500 that was raised from the Moose's purse bingo.   Anyone who is experiencing domestic violence is encouraged to call the Crossroads Crisis Center at 419-228-4357.

Alliance’s Annual Dinner Meeting Happening in 2 Weeks

The Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance Annual Dinner Meeting is set to take place in two weeks.   The event will be held from 6 until 8:30 Thursday February 28 in McIntosh Center at Ohio Northern University in Ada.   The evening is a celebration of members, distinguished community partners and Alliance accomplishments in 2018.   Tickets are $25 and RSVP is requested by February 22.   Call 419-673-4131 or email alliance@hccba.com.
