SR 31 South of Kenton to be Reduced to One Lane Next Week

Traffic on State Route 31 will be impacted by a road construction project next week. According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, 31 between Township Roads 180 and 265, three miles south of Kenton, will be restricted to one lane beginning Monday for guardrail preparation work. Traffic will be maintained by a temporary traffic signal.

Deadline for Junior Fair Entries is July 31

The deadline for Junior Fair entries for the 2023 Hardin County Fair is approaching. Junior Fair entries are due by Monday July 31. Open class entries will then be accepted from August 1 through the 25. Visit hardin county fair.org for more information. The fair runs September 5 through the 10 at the  fairgrounds in Kenton.

The Kenton Municipal Swimming Pool is hosting a Teen Night Pool Party on Wednesday August 2. Area high school teens entering freshman to senior seasons can swim from 7 until 9:30pm. Admission is $2 per person. Free pizza will be served, and a DJ will provide music.

New Stop Signs to be Installed Friday in Kenton

New stop signs will be installed tomorrow (July 28) on Market at Ohio Street in Kenton. City Council approved the new signs at Monday's meeting.   Currently there is only a stop sign on Ohio, but due to the increase in both vehicular and pedestrian traffic, it was decided to re-install the stop signs. That will make it an all-around stop at that location, again beginning on Friday.
