Alger Man Sentenced on Rape and GSI Charges

An Alger man was sentenced recently on one count each of rape and gross several imposition. According to documents from Prosecutor Brad Bailey's Office: .Johnathan D. L. Shrader will serve a minimum of 16 years to maximum of 21 and half years in prison. He was classified as a Tier III Sex Offender. Shrader was indicted on the charges in September of 2022. Closure of SR 31 South of Kenton Extended

The closure of State Route 31 south of Kenton has been extended. 31, between Township Road 180 and Township Road 265, closed April 27 to install a box culvert. It was originally scheduled to reopen in late June, but will now remain closed an additional two weeks. Reopening now is anticipated to be on July 10 at the earliest. A detour will remain in place.

The United Way of Hardin County is looking for projects for the annual Days of Caring Event. That will take place August 4 and 5.   If you have a project you would like to have considered, contact the United Way of Hardin Co. for an application.  Volunteers will help with painting, light construction, cleaning, and yard work.  Organizations, Churches, Parks and individuals are welcome to apply.
