Alger Public Library to Host Loom Knitting Night for 5th-8th Grade Students

The Alger Public Library is holding aa Loom Knitting night on Monday, April 28th. It is open to students in 5th through 8th grade. The knitting class will focus mainly on learning to loom knit. Students will have the opportunity to make hats, scarves, for themselves or others. Boys and girls of any skill level are welcome to learn or improve their knitting skills. All materials as well as snacks and drink are provided.

Kenton High School has set the date for their Mock Crash. The exercise will be conducted next Thursday, May 1 at the school. A rain date has been scheduled for May 2. There will be law enforcement, EMS, fire and MedFlight. Citizens, especially around that area, are reminded that it will just be a drill.

Benjamin Logan Anatomy Students Take Learning Outdoors to Study Cardiovascular Response

Photo: Benjamin Logan Local School District Students in the Anatomy class at Benjamin Logan School took learning outside Wednesday as they explored how exercise impacts the cardiovascular system. By measuring heart rate and blood pressure before and after physical activity, they witnessed firsthand how the body responds to movement. They also practiced key medical skills. The students learned how to accurately take a pulse and check blood pressure using stethoscopes and cuffs.
