Kenton Varsity Football Beats Bath 20-6 in a Friday night showdown

An opportunistic offense coupled with a suffocating defense was the winning formula for the Kenton Wildcats as they got past Bath 20-6 Friday night at Bath Stadium. The win was the first of the season for Kenton & the first career victory for Wildcat head coach Zach Turner. Kenton High School Girls Varsity Volleyball beat Bath High School 3-1

Kenton Wildcats topped Lima Bath in 4 sets, (25-13,18-25,25-18, 25-17) Strong team effort was key to first WBL win since 2017. Sadie Larrabee tallied 17 kills and 8 blocks. Morgan Lyons added 13 kills and 2 aces. Macee Heckathorn had 11 kills and 5 blocks. Cailyn Hopkins contributed 9 kills and 3 blocks. Brynn Butler scored 5 aces and 15 digs. Kenton Girls 8th Grade Volleyball falls to Lima Central Catholic 2-1

The Lady Wildcats lost a heart-breaker of a match to LCC 10-25, 25-17, 22-25. Kenton played a much improved defense against LCC in set 1 but just couldn't get their offense going.  Set 2 was a different story as Sidney Payne served up the 1st 12 points of the match and Kenton's offense came alive for the 25-17 victory. Kenton High School Boys Varsity Soccer beat Elida High School 3-0

Kenton defeated Elida tonight 3-0 in the WBL opener and improve to 4-0 on the season.  Marlon Lopez led the charge with a brace tonight and MJ Coulson and the defense pitched their 3rd shutout on the season.  Marlon Lopez started the scoring minutes into the contest when Parker Rarey beat his defender and crossed into traffic that was finished by Lopez.  The game stayed that way until the 2nd half when Connor Defibaugh fed Seth Manns to double the […]

Kenton High School Girls Varsity Soccer falls to Anna High School 3-2

Kenton girls take their first loss of the season tonight losing 3-2.  The Wildcats took a 2-0 lead to the half after goals from Ali Harpel and Abi Temple.  Both goals were assisted by Gabi Wetherill.  After the half Anna rallied and put 3 goals in the net and the cats could not find one themselves.   The JV team took to the field again tonight but came out with a loss as well. Riverdale and Elida Tie in High School Boys Soccer

Riverdale trailed Elida at the end of the 1st half 1-0. With 13 minutes left in the 2nd half, Riverdale pulled their Goalie O’Flehrty to put him in at forward. Elida scored with 7 minutes left to go up 2-0. O’Flehrty for Riverdale scored at 4:42 and 1:11 to tie the game and finish the match 2-2. Man of the match. Great game in goal and on the offensive side of the pitch.

Hardin Northern Wins the NWCC Tournament at Kings Mills Golf Club

Justin Thiel, Sophomore Hardin Northern shot 383 at the 2nd rd of NWCC tourney at Kings Mills Golf Club.  Waynesfield Goshen 410 and Ridgemont 441 were the other teams to compete with a team score.  HardinNorthern was led by Justin Thiel with an 86, Preston Grappy with 87, Zeb Wilson with 94 and Lauren Lenhart with 116.

Kenton High School Girls Varsity Soccer Beat Elida 2-1

The Kenton Lady Cats started WBL play tonight with a tough fought win over the Bulldogs.  Kenton took a 1-0 lead to the half after Emily Pees scored unassisted with 13 minutes left in the first half.  The Cats went up 2-0 at the 29 minute mark of the second half on a pass from Gabi Wetherill to Abi Temple up the middle beating the Elida goalie to the edge and tapping it in the corner of the goal.  Elida […]

Kenton High School Girls Varsity Volleyball Beat Ridgemont High School 3-0

Strong serving help Wildcats cruise past the Golden Gophers in 3 sets (25-15, 25-11, 25-11)  Brinley Hites lead scoring with 21 pts, followed Riley Totten with 20 and Morgan Lyons with 14. Lyons added 10 kills, Sadie Larabee had 9 kills 1 block, Macee Heckathorn and Cailyn Hopkins added 5 kills each  Freshman and JV Wildcats rounded out an over all sweep winning their matches.  The Wildcats will be back in action Thursday at home against Bath.
