One person was injured and several houses were hit after multiple gunshots were fired in Marion Wednesday afternoon.

According to a release from the Marion Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area of Oak and Chestnut Streets at around 2:15pm.

Both a vehicle and pedestrians were reportedly involved in the shooting, but no one involved was still at the scene.

A short time later, a person was reported to be at Marion General Hospital with a gunshot wound, and the individual was transported to a Columbus hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At least three houses were hit as gunfire was exchanged, but no one else was injured.

Officers and detectives have interviewed several people and have made one arrest of a 15-year-old juvenile.

Everyone involved has been located, and the ongoing investigation indicates that the shooting was the result of a continuous dispute between the involved persons.
